March 26, , I could see this on the mother board. Go to the drive manufacturer’s site and download their diagnostics and test the drive. Here change it to IDE. If you leave the battery out for about 15 minutes with the system unplugged from the wall, that will clear your current bios settings and may fix the problem without needing to reflash the bios. So, testing and back up of that drive is critical. Grab those for me.

It was doing it yesterday and I didn’t change any other setting. I can tell you have a budget build that probably uses a very poor quality generic PSU. At least it k8v8m00m consisent in that it couldn’t read the new and the hard drive that had no previous problems reading.
Remember to backup your givabyte bios image before flashing. Gigabyte lists three models in their support: Did you build the system yourself? Its most certainly your power supply thats causing issues at the moment.

You might also check the SATA cable since they tend to break rather easily and that is a frequent cause for these types of problems. So, testing and back up of that drive is critical. You might try installing a fresh motherboard battery first. Slow spinup times is often a sign that the drive is failing, and gigabytee fail shortly.
