Installing kernel AND Intel I have just been trying to salvage an old dell b desktop for my son just to do a bit of web browsing and some school work on. Generally speaking, Intel graphics drivers have always been available to, and integrated into, the Linux kernel pretty much from release. If there’s some info I can provide you just tell me, I’m using this box at work but I cannot be productive with these xorg bugs.

The issue was there even in ubuntu Dell Inspiron ; 2. There must be something to do with the power saving. I can reproduce a feeze with Ubuntu 8. Provide an answer of your own, or ask Rohith Kumar for more information if necessary.

Bug attachments lshw output edit xorg. In those far-off days, CPUs tended to carry as much of the load for graphics rendering as the video chips themselves did.

None detected – is lm-sensors installed and configured? On the other bug thread linked with this one, it was mentioned that a fix was released, but the bug remians as it is.
If youtube videos are the only issue just now, one option would be to install something that streams youtube videos. Have the same problem.
